Wait, Anti-Diet?  What does that mean?

The Anti-Diet Movement was developed by Lindsay Chetelat, RD, CDN after hearing many patients, friends, and family members express frustration at their lack of success in transforming their health through nutritional changes.  They would try diet after diet that would recommend eliminating entire food groups, labeling food items as "good" and "bad", consuming extremely small portions, and even adopting intermittent periods of fasting.  Both physically and psychologically, these diets were counterproductive.

The Anti-Diet Movement is a concept that intertwines psychology with nutrition in order to empower individuals to take charge of their bodies.  The Anti-Diet Dietitian focuses on helping others...

1) Gain an appreciation for nutrition and what they are putting inside their bodies,

2) Incorporate nutrition and exercise into an already jam-packed schedule,

3) Utilize mindful eating practices, and

4) Develop a plan to overcome obstacles in life that may impede progress.

All food can fit into an optimal nutrition plan.  The keys are moderation, portion control, and progress.
